Noxious Weed & Mosquito Districts

The Broadwater County Weed district implements noxious weed control on county roads. We also offer rental equipment and calibration support. We provide landowner assistance on noxious weed identification and control. If you want information on your property, we will gladly come to you and offer insight.  We conduct subdivision management plan inspections and we can even write management plans for you. Are you holding a HOA meeting, 4H/FFA meeting or other event? We have educational programming as well.

The Townsend Mosquito District does vector testing and control. This means we trap and test mosquitos for viruses like West Nile. If West Nile is found in our mosquito population we ramp up our control measures. We also perform mosquito abatement to help manage levels for comfort while following state and federal application laws. We also offer water sampling for larva and pupa and larvicide to reduce source populations. Our traps are set in strategic areas in the district to evaluate populations in the county and set our fogging routes for the week.
